OK—there’s no denying women have always loved beauty and cosmetic treatments. For so long, they were a woman’s domain, escape, and way of feeling good.
Now, it looks like men are starting to love cosmetic treatments more than women, and we’re all here for it. Some treatments seem to be more specific to men than women, but we’re talking about the treatments men typically wouldn’t have picked.
Read on to find out more.
Hair Loss Treatments
This one is slightly more specific to men. Men are biologically prone to hair loss because of their higher testosterone and Dihydrotestosterone levels. Men can start with a receding hairline as early as their teenage years. From there on out, it’s a slippery slope towards picking up the hair trimmer to go bald.
But for the men refusing to accept their bald destiny, there are the options of paying thousands and having a hair transplant. Most commonly, men book an all-inclusive trip to Turkey, get the treatment, enjoy some sun, and come home. And unlike the controversial Turkey teeth or the downright dangerous tummy tuck catastrophes, hair transplants performed in Turkey are almost always safe.
There are many clinics in the UK offering the treatment for a fraction of the price (although it’s still thousands).
Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
You’re either on the side of people who think everyone should start investing in anti-wrinkle injections, or you’re part of the group that suddenly believes Botox and fillers are destroying the empathy receptors in the brain. And no, it’s not true—Botox and fillers aren’t making us emotionally deceased. People quickly took to TikTok and other social media platforms to make videos about how they wished they could be empathetic but chose Botox instead. Here’s the funniest one!
Anyway, we digress. Men are definitely becoming more interested in anti-wrinkle treatments—there has been an over 180% increase in the last 15 years!
Although it’s proven they age better than women, there comes a point when even they can’t escape the fine lines and wrinkles.
Are they loving it more than women? Probably not, but we’re loving that they’re loving it!
Waxing Treatments
Men love a bit of TLC pamper time. And in a woman’s opinion, most men could use a bit of waxing here and there. What we didn’t expect is for men to be so into the beauty side of it—we’re talking eyebrow waxing.
Next time you’re walking down the street or sitting in a bar, look around you at the men and see how many you can find with perfectly shaped eyebrows. No, they’re not that lucky, like with their seemingly always long and perfect eyelashes, defined and shaped brows on anyone (men and women) have had some TLC!
We love that men care for themselves and become more invested in how they look—self-care is for everyone! It’s about time that men started to have the confidence to feel they can invest in a beauty treatment or two so they look fabulous!
