Motion graphics are an extension of static graphics, yet they add a new level of professionalism to brands. They make it easier for people to understand what you’ve communicated and retain the information because it has been broken down for them, which is useful for achieving respective marketing objectives. It is an effective way of communicating your message because 95% of a message is retained when it is received in a video, compared to only 10% when received in text.

These visuals give preference to your brand. When a person sees your logo at the first moment and needs to make a decision, these elements are important for gaining attention, especially if you can tailor the design depending on your brand’s audience. After all, content with relevant images receives 94% more views compared to content without images.

Motion graphics can also bring more personality into your work, which is essential because you need your audience to find something familiar in what you post. This will result in more people interacting with your content and, therefore, informing more people about your service or product. Engagement on tweets with videos is ten times higher than on tweets without any video content. This is just one of the many advantages of including motion graphics in your work.

As a warm-up, let’s look at three fast, less complex types of motion graphics to enhance your posts. After that, we’ll proceed with showing outstanding examples of other brands that might inspire you while working on your campaign.

How to Incorporate Callouts in Your Content

Callouts are one of the best tools I use when I need to highlight some object or information in the text. Instagram and other social media platforms currently have several features, including integrated functions to add text and even roughly track it to moving objects. But why not create something tailored to your brand and message?

For example, in a previous project, the client required a modern appearance for marketing new renovations to the neighborhood, so we kept the callouts simple and customized the colors to match their branding. If they had emphasized historic preservation, a serif or woodblock-style font with more complex borders and graphics would have been preferable, but the simpler design worked perfectly for them.

In this relative motion option, we have two methods to manage movement within your shot. The useful one is the 3D camera tracker, which can be found in the “Tracker” tab under “Track Camera.” In fact, School of Motion offers a great tutorial on this. The other option is the “Track Motion” feature, also found under the “Tracker” tab. I opted for the latter in a recent project, as the callouts did not need to appear three-dimensional.

Animate Your Messages

To grab your viewer’s attention, consider incorporating animations into your messages. One way to animate your message is to animate the text and time it so that the viewer is fully engaged. To do this effectively, break your message into manageable chunks, allowing only one or two phrases to pop up at a time. Otherwise, the reader may scan the entire wall of text, feel overwhelmed, and continue scrolling.

Apple’s “Don’t Blink” advertisement is perhaps one of the most powerful animation adverts ever made. It’s filled with action and motion, holding the viewer’s attention on the message.

Create Stickers for Added Engagement

Stickers are a very effective way of getting your audience interested in what you’re offering. They increase the functionality of your content, make it easier to share, and add personality and intrigue to your brand.

If you want to share your sticker designs, it’s common to upload them to GIPHY since they work great with Instagram.

These GIFs complement the style of her illustrations and services and provide her fans with a fun way to interact with and share her work, making it more viral and engaging.

You can create stickers in Procreate on the Apple iPad or other drawing applications that allow frame-by-frame animations. They can also be designed in a typical illustration program and then animated with After Effects or even Photoshop.
